There was a market, one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand. Them somebody decided to build the Bangkok to Samut Songkhram railway line right through the middle. And the market didn’t move.
So today awnings and stalls block the railway tracks and when the horn sounds awnings are swung back and stalls pulled out of the way so the train can get through.
It’s strange but not as dangerous or wild as it might sound as the station is at one end of the market so the train passes through a walking pace, all overseen by a station official.
